every element of a correct soccer kick. I

the various components of properly kicking a soccer ball. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">A <u>Volley</u>
involves learning how to effectively kick a ball out of the air. This kick demands striking through the center
of the ball, keeping your shoulders over the ball, and a follow through that
stays parallel with the ground. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">A <u>Laces Volley Kick/Pass
– Stationary Ball</u> involves learning how to properly kick a bouncing ball
that is not moving using the laces and moving directly towards the ball (rather
than at an angle). A stationary ball
allows you to focus exclusively on learning proper technique rather than worry
about additional elements connected to a moving ball.<o:p></o:p></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The <u>Laces Volley
Kick/Pass – Forward Approaching Ball</u> technique involves using the laces to

of the ball, keeping your shoulders over the ball, and a follow through that
stays parallel with the ground. <o:p></o:p></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">An <u>Inside Foot
Volley Kick/Pass – Stationary Ball</u> involves learning how to properly kick a
bouncing ball that is not moving using the inside foot and moving directly
towards the ball (rather than at an angle).
A stationary ball allows you to focus exclusively on learning proper
technique rather than worry about additional elements connected to a moving
ball.<o:p></o:p></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The <u>Inside Foot

of the ball, keeping your shoulders over the ball, and a follow through that
stays parallel with the ground.<o:p></o:p></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">An <u>Outside Foot
Volley Kick/Pass – Stationary Ball</u> involves learning how to properly kick a
bouncing ball that is not moving using the outside foot and moving directly
towards the ball (rather than at an angle).
A stationary ball allows you to focus exclusively on learning proper
technique rather than worry about additional elements connected to a moving

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">There is a soccer training DVD called
Blast The Ball which is included with the Soccer University DVD training
series. Blast The Ball covers nearly
every element of a correct soccer kick. I
strongly recommend this purchasing and reviewing this DVD to develop and master
the various components of properly kicking a soccer ball. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">A <u>Laces (Straight) Kick/Pass</u>
involves kicking the ball with the laces.
It also involves moving directly towards the ball rather than
approaching from an angle. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The <u>Laces Ground Kick/Pass</u>
involves moving directly towards the ball (rather than at an angle) and using
the laces to kick the ball along the ground in a specific direction. This kick demands striking through the
center/top of the ball, keeping your shoulders over the ball, and a follow through
that stays parallel with the ground. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The <u>Laces Ground
Kick/Pass – Stationary Ball</u> involves learning how to properly kick a ball that
is not moving along the ground using the laces and moving directly towards the
ball (rather than at an angle). A
stationary ball allows you to focus exclusively on learning proper technique
rather than worry about additional elements connected to a moving ball. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The <u>Laces Ground Kick/Pass
– Forward Approaching Ball</u> technique involves learning how to use the Laces
to properly kick a ball that is moving directly towards you and keep it on the
ground. This is a fairly common
situation in youth soccer. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The <u>Laces Low
Driving Air Kick/Pass</u> involves moving directly towards the ball (rather
than at an angle) and using the Laces to kick a low driving ball in air in a
specific direction. This kick demands
striking through the center of the ball, opening up your shoulders a bit, and a
normal follow through.<o:p></o:p></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">A <u>Laces Low Driving
Air Pass/Kick – Stationary Ball</u> involves learning how to properly kick a
ball that is not moving in the air with power using the Laces and moving
directly towards the ball (rather than at an angle). A stationary ball allows you to focus
exclusively on learning proper technique rather than worry about additional
elements connected to a moving ball. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The <u>Laces Low
Driving Air Kick/Pass – Forward Approaching Ball</u> technique involves
learning how to use the Laces to properly kick a ball that is moving directly towards
you and drive it with power in the air. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<br />
<br />
<b><u><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Dribbling<o:p></o:p></span></u></b><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Mastering dribbling is
beneficial because it allows you to move the ball into the best location on the
field to execute the kicks and passes listed above. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">There are four
foundational types of dribbling which must be mastered. These types of dribbling include <u>Speed
Dribbling, Chop Dribbling, Controlled Dribbling, and Fast Dribbling</u>. <o:p></o:p></span><br />

One Touch Ground Kick/Pass</u> involves using the outside foot to kick a ball

Instead of trapping the ball or kicking a stationary ball, this kick

the ground in a specific direction.
Instead of trapping the ball or kicking a stationary ball, this kick
involves striking a moving ball. This
kick offers a high degree of control if executed correctly and is commonly used
to pass the ball to a teammate. The idea
behind one touch passing is speed of play.
One touch passing allows a team to move the ball quickly making it
difficult for the opposing team to defend and tackle. <o:p></o:p></span><br />

position to move around a defender after you complete the pass. This kick demands striking through the

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">A <u>Forward Touch
always means moving the ball towards the goal</u>. If possible, your 1st Touch of the
ball should move the ball towards the opponent’s goal. Your first thought should be to attack, to
advance the ball, to put pressure on the defense. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">An <u>Outside Foot Angle
Forward Touch</u> means the ball is approaching you at an angle and you use
your 1st Touch with the outside foot to send the ball towards your
opponent’s goal. This is a more
complicated touch because you must angle your receiving foot properly to get the
ball to move in the direction you want it to.

<b><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Dribbling<o:p></o:p></span></b><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><u>Chop Dribbling
involves quick, choppy steps and touching the ball with every step</u>. This is the most controlled type of dribbling
and is usually utilized in a crowded area of the field while still allowing you
to move the ball forward. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><u>Controlled
Dribbling involves moving the ball down the field as quickly as possible while
using the same foot to touch the ball every stride</u>. The part of the foot that touches the ball –
laces, inside foot, outside foot – is irrelevant. The idea is to get the same foot on the ball
in whatever way is most appropriate.
Controlled Dribbling provides a nice balance of speed and control. <o:p></o:p></span><br />

<b><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Kicking / Passing<o:p></o:p></span></b></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The <u>Inside Foot
Ground Kick/Pass</u> is a foundational move and should be mastered at an early
age. It involves using the inside foot
to kick the ball along the ground in a specific direction. This kick offers a high degree of control if
executed correctly which is why it is commonly used to pass the ball to a
teammate. This kick demands striking through
the center/top of the ball, keeping your shoulders over the ball, and a follow
through that stays parallel with the ground.

<b><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">1st
Touch<o:p></o:p></span></b></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">A <u>Forward Touch
always means moving the ball towards the goal</u>. If possible, your 1st Touch of the
ball should move the ball towards the opponent’s goal. Your first thought should be to attack, to
advance the ball, to put pressure on the defense. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">An <u>Inside Foot
Angle Forward</u> Touch means the ball is approaching you at an angle and you
use your 1st Touch to send the ball towards your opponent’s
goal. This is a more complicated touch
because you must angle your receiving foot properly to get the ball to move in
the direction you want it to. <o:p></o:p></span><br />

<br />
<b><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Dribbling<o:p></o:p></span></b><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><u>Chop Dribbling
involves quick, choppy steps and touching the ball with every step</u>. This is the most controlled type of dribbling
and is usually utilized in a crowded area of the field while still allowing you
to move the ball forward. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<br />
